Yared Presents We Love Reading Research at ISPNE 2026

Yared Getachew recently attended the 56th Annual Meeting of the International Society of Psychoneuroendocrinology (ISPNE) in Erlangen, Germany. Under this year’s theme, “Stress in Motion: From Signals to Society,” the conference brought together interdisciplinary research exploring how stress connects biological, psychological, and social processes across different contexts.

Yared presented findings from our We Love Reading Project, examining mother–child physiological synchrony in under-resourced and crisis-affected settings. The research used book sharing as a demanding task and potential stressor to explore how proximal and distal stressors may influence patterns of synchrony.

The presentation contributed to broader discussions on stress, caregiving, and child development, while highlighting the importance of examining these processes across diverse and under-resourced contexts.
