Yared

I am a Research Assistant at the Teaching, Learning, and Development (TLD) Lab at NYU Abu Dhabi, where I handle physiological data collection, preprocessing and analysis, particularly heart rate variability (HRV), to explore early childhood development, emotional well-being, and caregiver-child interactions. In the TLD Lab, I work on collaborative interdisciplinary projects that investigate the impact of maternal adverse childhood experiences on mother-child interactions and biobehavioral co-regulation across different cultural contexts. My background in social psychology integrates archival research and multilevel modeling to explore well-being and migration decision-making. I am highly interested in SES and socio-economic policy impacts on wellbeing with a passion in understanding how adversity shapes emotional regulation and development. I aim to apply findings to create culturally responsive interventions for children and youth facing hardship.
