Teaching, Learning, and Development Lab at the NYU Abu Dhabi Science Division Annual Research Conference

On January 23, 2026, the New York University Abu Dhabi Science Division Annual Research Conference convened researchers from across disciplines to share recent advances and engage in interdisciplinary dialogue.

During the poster sessions, Yared Getachew, Research Assistant at the Teaching, Learning, and Development Lab, presented the lab’s ongoing research on mother–child physiological synchrony among urban Syrian refugee families in Jordan. The work examines how stress and regulation unfold across different interaction contexts, contributing to a deeper understanding of developmental processes in displaced populations.

Spanning disciplines from psychology and biology to computer science and the physical sciences, the conference underscored the role of cross-disciplinary exchange in advancing scientific research.
